You will not need to walk very far and we avoid a strenuous timetable. Your leaders are very familiar with these locations and know the best times to shoot, the best routes and the general natural history. The day will be optimised and you might therefore expect unusual times. Each day is planned to provide you with a leisure experience and to respect the local environment. The choice of locations and theme for the day will be discussed with you so that we can work with you to get the most out of your time and to meet your personal preferences.
The weather is unpredictable but we cannot do anything about it and therefore we don't believe it should prevent us from enjoying the outdoors. It will influence what we do but it is possible to adjust activities and to protect ourselves from the conditions so expect to carry on with the days plan unless the prudent course of action is to seek refuge. If you are British you are probably as adept at deciding “what to wear” as any of us but a list is given (below) to give you a reminder and to provide guidance for our visitors from abroad.
- Stout comfortable walking shoes
- Sun hat
- Sun cream
- Midge repellant
- Waterproof, windproof coat
- Warm base layers and gloves for Winter
- Drinking vessels for adequate water intake
