Guided Walking in Derbyshire and the The Peak District

A week based in classical Derbyshire walking country, indulging in mouthwatering British Fayre at the 3 star New Bath Hotel and plunging into the warm waters of the spa pool at the end of the walk.

This part of Derbyshire has a variety of walks for you and a wide range of interests in a relatively compact area. We will also venture into the Peak District National Park to enjoy some of its special landscape characteristics. From the hotel centre you can immerse yourself in a World Heritage site along the Derwent Valley Trail, and explore its wooded hillsides and nature reserves. You might even chance spotting UFO's in the area of highest sightings in Britain on Bonsall Moor.

After exercising your legs along sections of the High Peak Trail. Midshires way and over Cromford Moor, you can return to the hotel and indulge in a theraputic dip in its natural spa which bubbles up as a spring from the ground. The warm waters are rich in minerals and can cure a variety of ailments. You can use the excellent sauna or just relax in the bar or lounge areas to finish the day.

Guided Walking in The Peak District -

Where the White peak meets the Dark Peak

The walks during this week will let you experience the two different parts of the Peak District, the White and the Dark Peak. We will be centred at Hulme Vale and take advantage of it's convenient location to venture into the two types of landscapes. All walks will be taken at an enjoyable pace for you.

From here a number of routes radiate out to discover limestone dales, the Kinder plateau and the Great Ridge situated between the two. You will have continuous interest throughout the week with unique features such the Shivering Mountain of Mam Tor, the contradication of the habitat on Bradwell Moor and the famous story of the Plague village at Eyam.

This walking holiday is set in the heart of the Peak District in an area of river valleys that are famous for their beauty. You will be centred at Monsal Head atop one of the finest views in the region down into Monsal Dale. It is at the hub of a number of walks and lets you explore a host of places from “the door step” …. the deep dales, pretty Derbyshire villages, nature reserves and small expanses of moorland.

Mam Tor and Castleton will be the destinations on Saturday and you will spend Sunday discovering local Bradwell Moor and Hay Dale.

Walking in the Derbyshire dales and the Peak District

from Standlow Farm

A 5 day walking break in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales and venturing into the Peak District National Park. Our base for the 5 nights is at Standlow Farm, on the edge of the National Park. From here you will be within easy reach of famous Dovedale for a classical walk through a beautiful limestone gorge. Rambling over rolling hills will bring you to rural villages like Parwich and Tissington where you can try a stretch of the Tissington Trail. Another direction takes you to the wooded landscapes and hillside farmland around Carsington Water. The final day, will be an Easy Day with a choice of walks.
